introduction
This course is designed to take graduate-level individuals to a point where they can be actively involved and billable in a Business Central project within 3-4 months. It combines highly interactive classroom training, utilising a variety of didactic approaches, with back-to-work practical activities to hone those skills taught in the classroom. The course is residential, ensuring maximum benefit is gained from a continuous learning environment.
The course covers relevant essential aspects of Dynamics 365 Business Central, and is aimed to grow a general professional skill set
The program will be concluded with a major project integrating all topics and skills that have been covered and acquired during the training.

After the training, the trainee will have:
- a basic functional understanding of Business Central its generic structure.
- knowledge of Business Central financial areas and be will be able to explain them from the perspective of business administration
- the ability to apply several logistic processes into trade, logistics, including warehouse management and more
- the ability to recognise different manufacturing processes and is able to apply Business Central manufacturing and knows how to set-up MPS and MRP
- knowledge of project management, resources and service management.
who?
The course ramps up participants to take them forward down an IT-career path starting with consultancy. Although not compulsory, candidates would benefit if they are familiar with Dynamics 365 Business Central or have some working knowledge of the software and application, either as a user or help desk support member, for example.
technology and competence requirements
Delegates are expected to participate in the course using their own laptop/tablet computer pre-loaded with a Dynamics 365 Business Central Cronus database, Windows 10 or 11, and Microsoft 365.
Minimum competence for delegates is an understanding of the Microsoft environment and to have reasonable Microsoft Office abilities.
certification
Delegates will receive a certificate confirming their participation in the course. This in itself does not provide the necessary accreditation required by Microsoft but in time, we believe will set its own standard.

The following topics will be discussed:
Dynamics 365 Business Central Introduction, including history, explanation and exercises teaching the main modules, finishing with overall case.
Note that this topic will be covered in the first week of the course in a joined class with the technical track.
Financial Management, including setup of a new company, complete case-oriented hands-on labs, analyses and presentations of sub-module by learners.
Trade and Logistics, including WMS, complete case-oriented hands-on labs, analyses and presentations of sub-module by learners.
CRM and Jobs, complete case-oriented hands-on labs, analyses and presentations of sub-module by learners.
Manufacturing, complete case-oriented hands-on labs, analyses and presentations of sub-module by learners.
Database Structure and Power BI, including Classic, RTC, transformation, SRS/JET, guidelines and best practices.
Database Errors, including Analyses, Assumptions & risks, object transformation, object upgrade & merge, Tool Kit and best practice.
Consultancy skills, including Sure Step methodology, Consultancy, Project Management, and (Pre-) Sales.

Week 1: Introduction Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Week 1 entails an introduction of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
for both the functional and technical track. The student will get familiar with the history and user interface of the product and his basic settings. At the end of the week the student can execute the most basic transactions regarding financial management, purchase, sales and inventory management.
Challenges for and presentations by students regarding small functional topics will be part of this training week. The week will finish with an overall case which covers previous topics.
Week 2: Financial Management in Business Central
In week 2 we will focus on financial management in Business Central. This is only possible when there is a basic understanding of Business Administration. So this is covered as well. We will learn financial functionality from the focus of the daily, monthly and yearly tasks of the finance department. We start with the overall case and we’ll learn how to set up a company from scratch. Special financial related topics will get attention from the students by doing research and presentation.
The Rapid Start methodology and reporting will be covered as well during this week.
Week 3:Trade and logistics in Business central
In week 3 we will focus on trade and logistics. The student will work on different cases and learn how to set up the trade and logistics settings for a company to execute the corresponding transactions. The warehouse management functionality will also get attention this week. Special logistic related topics will get attention from the students through research and presentations.
Week 4: CRM (marketing), service management and jobs
In week 4 we will focus on CRM (marketing), service management and jobs. The student will work on different cases and learn how to set up the CRM, service management and jobs settings for a company to execute the corresponding transactions. A comparison to other ERP systems will get attention this week. Special CRM related topics will get attention from students by doing research and presentations.
Week 5: Manufacturing & Final Assignment
In week 5 is reserved for manufacturing. After an introduction, we will cover areas of consumption, demand planning, subcontracting, capacity and standard cost calculation. In parallel, the student will work on an overall case to apply their newly acquired knowledge.
This week, the training as such will be concluded by a demo of an integrated case and will be judged by a team of board of experts.
Parallel to this program and these subjects we hope to invite some senior consultants to challenge the students in different related topics during these weeks
